Clash of the Selections

In the meeting that took place in Swakopmund this weekend, the Selection teams from both Swakopmund and Windhoek played against each other, and left both the fans and the coaches hoping for another meet up. The U13’s set the bar high. The selection boys from Windhoek cruised passed their coastal counterparts, with a score line of 6-1. Whilst the U13’s carried the win, the U15’s did the total opposite when they found themselves trailing 3-0 by half-time. The Windhoekers found themselves head to head after half-time when they balanced the scale, but unfortunately conceded a goal just a few minutes before game down. The match ended 4:3 in favor of the Coastal Selection. The day was to be concluded by the U17’s of both teams. It was a very determined set of two teams, with an action packed collision, from the first yellow card, denied penalties, riveting tackles as well as missed punches and finally a dramatic one all draw. All in all, both Selections experienced the three fates of soccer, with each recording one win, one draw and a loss.

They all eagerly awaiting waiting for the return matches to determine who will have the bragging rights this inaugural year.
