Young Warriors AFCON Journey comes to an end

Namibia clash out of the U20 AFCON tournament after a last minute defeat to Burkina Faso on Sunday evening, going into the game Namibia needed at least a 3 goals win to qualify for the next stage but that slowly started slipping away as soon as Central African Republic surprised the rest of the continent when they scored 2 goals against Tunisia in just 6 minutes, and standing their grounds until the final whistle was blown.  They now join Burkina Faso in the next rounds of AFCON.

It was not all tears however for Namibia as Steven Damaseb took the Man of the Match title by the end of the night, which makes it two in total for Namibia after the one received by Prins Tjiueza in their first game.

The Namibian team that comprised 15 players that cut their teeth in the MTC HopSol Youth Soccer League impressed friend and foe with their energetic and never-say-die attitude. The Young Warriors starting berth put’s them under the top 15 Youth Soccer Nations on the continent. The journey continues for these young Warriors….
