KFA U/15 demolishes Dama SA 7-0

…while CBS U19 is held 1-all against City Pillars

Kaizen Football Academy (KFA) delivered a masterclass performance this past weekend when they dismantled Dama Soccer Academy with a whopping 7-0 scoreline.
The standout performance for KFA was Jaylan Britz, who scored a hat-trick for his side, while Brooklyn Goliath and Elim Kambinda both scored two goals each to seal the deal and collect three points in Group A.

KFA’s coach James Britz felt it was a good result against a good opponent, as Dama is doing well in the league.

The way my boys played today was a good display. There was something we tried in training, and it worked out well for us. We tried a few formations as well and worked on some things, and it was in our favour today. I must applaud my boys because their discipline is very good,

– he said.

Britz said all his boys have been coming to training. One could see in the result that their hard work is paying off on the football pitch.

All thumbs up to them for their discipline, dedication and the belief that they can develop as better football players at Kaizen Football Academy.

There was one moment where our centre back impressed me today, where our centre back was covering, which was a goal-saving opportunity. Our communication was very good, and I enjoyed how they moved as a unit. We were playing with three at the back and they did very well with their communication as well, their distance between them was not wide. Because we wanted to have a narrow three with the wingers, as we did not play with a wing back just with the wingers. Once we had the ball, they opened up very well. The one defender dropped in the midfield, so it looked like we were playing with two at the back, but we were playing with three, so I was very impressed with that. That is the thing we worked on in training, and they perfected it today,

– he ended.

Elsewhere

The Collin Benjamin Soccer Talents U19 CBS were given a scare when City Pillars took on the early lead in the first half, but luckily enough they managed to bounce back to salvage a draw in the second half.

Coach Neville Geingob felt the game was balanced, as it could have gone either way with both teams vying for the three points late on Friday afternoon.

The game was intense, as it was a 50/50 for me. We came and gave them a game. I told my boys we had nothing to lose, knowing the position we are in right now,

– he said.

We had to fight for at least a point or a win here, and we managed to get that draw. I saw my boys had that fighting spirit today. The way we were playing today compared to our previous matches, we always gave away silly goals. Today, they showed character and showed we could do it. I am very happy with their performance, their discipline and the shift they had in the training makes me happy,

– he said.

Gregory Mukweli, the captain for CBS, said they came with a game plan which did not quite work out for them, which was disappointing for them.

They got us in a way that we went switched on from the start of the match. Our player in the second half got tired and lacked focus in the end we defended good, but our recovery was too weak,

– he noted.
