Curtains closing on the U/19 league games

This past weekend saw two U/19 league games take place to close-off the league chapter for the big boys.

KFA locked up on the top of the table finish on Thursday by defeating Pioniers Boys 1-0. Kasaona Fa took to the field 3 times this week, recording a 2-0 victory against Döbra, and a one-all draw against Pioniers boys and ACFA. ACFA recorded another draw (0-0) against Fortis Fa.

The U19 league doesn’t seem to be short of excitement, surprises and plenty of goals. Over the last 7 months a total of 182 matches took place. In those matches 246 goals were scored. The cream of the crop of that age group will all represent different regions in the upcoming Namibian Newspaper Cup to be held in Oshakati this coming weekend.

SKW U19 seems to be the biggest surprise this year missing out on a Top 8 finish this year. They ended on the 9th position with only 4 wins, 2 draws and 7 losses. They ended with an overall 17 points with the nearest rivals OSS having 20 points. Ramblers led the league most of the year and with KFA lurking in 2nd place before snatching the 1st place in the end. The package team that stunned friend and foe are the boys from Windhoek Gymnasium. The coaching team of Coach Murangi and Coach Efraim are certainly onto something in Kleine Kuppe.

The finals will see the best 8 teams pitted against each other on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd September 2022 at the MTC HopSol Arena at Jan Möhr Secondary School in Dorado Park.

The big question remains: Who will be U19 champions 2022?
