MTC Hopsol Youth League nearing completion

THE MTC Hopsol Youth Soccer League is nearing its conclusion with the semifinals and finals of various age groups taking place this week.

With Ramblers already having won the u19 title after beating Kaizen 2-1 on 5 November, the attention now shifts to the u9 to u17 age group categories, with the u15 semifinals due to take place at the Khomasdal field on Wednesday and the u17 semifinals at the same venue on Thursday.

The u15 semifinals will see SKW facing Football School Windhoek (FSW) at 15h00 on Wednesday, followed by Athletic Club Football Academy (ACFA) against Kaizen Football Academy (KFA) at 16h20.

In league matches over the past week, Kasaona Football Academy beat KFA 2-1, but it was not enough to clinch a semifinal place, as SKW and Kaizen qualified from Group A, while ACFA and FSW topped the log in Group B.

In other league matches over the past week, SKW beat DTS 3-1, while Ramblers B and Fortis Football Academy drew 0-0.

In the u17 category, Kasaona FA beat KFA 1-0 in a top of the log clash last Monday, but despite the defeat, KFA still managed to progress to the semifinals with Kasaona FA in Group A, while Ramblers A and ACFA progressed from Group B.

In other results, SKW beat Greefies FA 4-2, ACFA beat Swallows 1-0, Ramblers B beat A Shipena Secondary School 2-0, SKW beat Ramblers B 3-0, and Greefies FA beat A Shipena 2-0.In Thursday’s semifinals at the Khomasdal field, Kasaona FA will take on ACFA at 15h00, while Ramblers A will face KFA at 16h20.

The semifinalists of the u12 and u13 leagues still need to be determined, with the final league matches today, before the semifinals will be held at the SKW field Thursday.In the u12 category, DTS on 13 points and ACFA on 10 have clinched their semifinal places after finishing on top of Group A, but FSW (11 points), Ramblers (9) and SKW (6) are all still in the running for the final two semifinal spots in Group B.

In matches on Saturday, SKW beat Kasaona FA 3-1, Ramblers and FSW drew 3-3, Physical Active Youth (PAY) beat Windhoek Football Club (WFC) 2-0, and DTS beat ACFA 2-1.In the u13 category, Kaizen, who lead Group A on 12 points, have already secured a semifinal spot, while DTS (9) and Ramblers (6) are still in the running for the other semifinal spot.

In Group B, ACFA lead the log on 15 points and are through to the semifinals, while SKW and FSW who are both on six points are in the running for the other semifinal spot.In matches on Monday, ACFA beat FSW 3-1, while SKW beat Windhoek Gymnasium 4-0.

The u11 semifinals and final will take place at a later date still to be determined.The finals of the u12, u13, u15 and u17 leagues will be held at the DTS field on Saturday.The u9 and u10 age group categories are being run on a league basis, with ACFA I and SKW in the driving seat to win the respective age group categories.

ACFA I currently lead the u9 category on 21 points, followed by DTS, Ramblers and SKW who are all on 15 points, while SKW lead the u10 category on 13 points, followed by DTS (7) and ACFA (6).
